Sustenance

An osprey feeds almost exclusively on fish, which it catches with impressive precision. Hovering or circling high above the water, it spots its prey through the surface, then dives feet-first with talons extended. Specialized pads on its feet help the osprey grip the slippery fish, which it then carries back to a perch or nest to eat.
